Dyfed Powys Police have donated £500 to Tenby Army Cadets, using the seized proceeds of crime.
Under the Force’s incentivisation scheme money seized by officers from criminals is reinvested for the benefit of local communities.
The cadets made a successful bid for the funding, which was presented in the form of a cheque, by Tenby Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) to Detachment Officer Paul Mason.
PCSO Mandy Goodland, Tenby (NPT), said: “The Force incentivisation scheme is an innovative idea to ensure that money generated from criminality and seized by police can be reinvested to help local communities and good causes.
“This donation will enable the cadets to further develop and ensure all cadets regardless of their backgrounds have the opportunity to take part in activities gaining valuable life experiences.
“The cadets will be able to develop their inter-personal skills and learn how to work effectively as part of a team. They’ll be able to use these skills throughout their lives, which will benefit the whole of society.”
The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is one of the UK’s oldest, largest and most successful youth organisations consisting of more than 47,000 cadets in around 1,700 local detachments across the country. The ACF helps young people between the ages of 12 and 18 develop both personally and physically by providing a range of opportunities, challenges and activities.
