Host families are needed to provide a temporary home to European students taking part in the successful Leonardo da Vinci work exchange programme.
The scheme is run in North Wales by Llangollen-based ECTARC (European Centre for Training and Regional Co-operation) and offers three month placements for students from Spain, Italy, France and Germany. Students have taken on many roles, including working in a press office, radio station, laboratory and other industries. They also spend time at the ECTARC centre improving their English speaking skills.
Students could stay with hosts for a period ranging from a week to three months. ECTARC pay £60 a week for self-catering and £105 a week for providing full board accommodation.
Host families must live in main towns such as Ruthin, Wrexham or Bangor, with accessible bus services.
Diane and Keith Potts have hosted guests since 1993.
They said: “We have been lucky with the students over the years. Being a host family gives us a unique opportunity to get to know somebody from another country, making it a rewarding personal experience.
