Easter Activity Programme Holds Baskets of Fun

Cardiff Council returns this Easter with an egg-citing and jam packed programme of children’s activities, available to browse online.

Leisure Centres across Cardiff have prepared hundreds of fun and varied activities taking place during the two week break with each facility running their own individual schedule of events.

Netball, pool parties, rock climbing, trampoling, football, cheerleading and arts and crafts are amongst the activities going on around the city.

There are also several Easter themed sessions such as Easter egg hunts, an Easter bonnet fancy dress party and Easter cake decorating.

For kids who like clowning around Western Leisure Centre is hosting the Street Games Circus Skills taster whilst Maindy Centre will be running their cycling activity Track Attack for children who like to get on their bikes.

Fairwater Leisure Centre is preparing to give kids a forces experience with Army Orienteering and Eastern Leisure Centre are holding street dance lessons.

Pentwyn Leisure Centre is running several week long kids camps including cricket camp, footy camp and the popular PAPA Camp, Pentwyn’s Academy of Performing Arts.

There is soft play and inflatable sessions running for the under fives and the free school holidays swimming scheme for children is back for the eighth year running.

The free swimming initiative is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and allows all children and young people aged 16 years and under living in Cardiff to go swimming absolutely free of charge in any of the seven swimming pools

There are also several free swimming activities on offer such as fun with snorkels and masks and Wet and Wild Pool parties with pool inflatable and floats and for children who are less confident in the water the Council offers half price crash-course swimming lessons.
