Flintshire County Council’s fostering team organised an Easter fun day at Wepre Park for all their fostering families.
More than 80 foster carers and children enjoyed the day which included a special duck race on the river. 136 rubber ducks were helped on their way down the river, representing each child in foster care over Easter.
The children then took part in an Easter egg hunt through the park with the help of Wepre Park Rangers. Each child was given an Easter egg and the day ended with a picnic in the park.
There were 136 Flintshire children in foster care over Easter and two local children come into care almost every week.
Jill Jones, of Flintshire’s Family Placement Team, said: “We need more local families to help us to look after children of all ages. We would like to ask anyone who is interested in fostering just find out more about it. We are happy to talk and answer any questions. For more information visit www.flintshire.gov.uk/foster”
