Eisteddfod Announces Two for One Ticket Details for Wrexham

Today (14 May) the National Eisteddfod announced details of the two for one ticket scheme for the people of Wrexham during the first weekend of the Wrexham and District Eisteddfod this year (30-31 July).

The scheme is a chance for local people to enjoy Wales’ leading festival on their doorstep, on Lower Berse Farm, off Ruthin Road, Wrexham.  This is the first time for the Eisteddfod to be held in Wrexham since 1977 and local residents have been busily preparing for the week for almost two years.

If you live within Wrexham County Borough, you can order your two for one tickets from 14 May until 18 July.  Call the Ticket Line on 0845 4090 800 or go to www.eisteddfod.org.uk and click on ‘Tickets’.  Over 15,000 leaflets and order forms will also be distributed throughout the area.

There are 10,000 two for one tickets available, so hurry to be part of this special offer.  And if you order your tickets before 30 June, you’ll save up to 12% on a Maes (field) ticket price.

Elfed Roberts, National Eisteddfod Chief Executive, said, “We very much hope that this scheme will appeal to the people of Wrexham.  We hope yo attract a new audience to enjoy the bustle of the Eisteddfod’s first week weekend which is now widely regarded as a weekend for the family.

“The support of local residents close to the Eisteddfod is extremely important to us, and we are keen for everyone to have a chance to have a taste of what the Eisteddfod is.  We hope that the people of Wrexham will take advantage of this scheme in their thousands and make the Wrexham and District National Eisteddfod a week to remember.”

The National Eisteddfod gratefully acknowledges the Welsh Assembly Government’s financial contribution towards this scheme.

The Wrexham and District National Eisteddfod is held on Lower Berse Farm, off Ruthin Road, Wrexham, from 30 July – 6 August this year.  The National Eisteddfod attracts 150,000 – 160,000 of visitors annually and travels around Wales visiting north and south Wales alternately.  For more information go to www.eisteddfod.org.uk.
