Eight year old Elin Worth, a pupil at Ysgol Gwaun Gynfi, Deiniolen, has won a competition to design a logo for a new Play Ranger Project.
North West Wales Play Forum Partnership (Conwy, Gwynedd and Ynys Môn) secured £1million from the Big Lottery for a Play Ranger project.
National and local reviews of play provision found that there was a lack of year-round open access staffed play provision. The Play Ranger Project aims to address this. The project will provide a team of three Play Rangers in each of the partner counties of Ynys Môn, Gwynedd and Conwy to provide for children’s play in various communities.
To get young people involved in the project from the very beginning, pupils from schools across the three counties were invited to take part in an art competition to design a logo for this new project.
Alaw Thomas, Project Administrator said: “The standard was high but the judges agreed that Elin’s design captured the essence of the Play Ranger project.”
Elin’s design will appear on the uniforms of the nine Play Rangers as well as on the project’s three red transit vans.
Look out for the Rangers in their red uniforms and vans.
