Motorists are advised of an emergency road closure that will affect the A4059 at Abercynon from 8pm this (Thursday March 22) evening.
Repairs are needed to the double cattle grid on the carriageway as it comes off the Abercynon roundabout on to the A4059 Aberdare road.
The welding will only take a few hours, but it will be necessary to close the westbound exit off of the roundabout on to the A4059 while they are carried out.
Traffic will be diverted via the A470 to the A465 and back into Aberdare.
Motorists are urged to take heed of signage and diversions during this time. The South East Wales Trunk Road Agency apologises for any inconvenience caused, but the works are of an emergency and urgent nature.
