To mark Fairtrade Fortnight a Ugandan coffee producer will be in Caerphilly county borough to talk about the benefits that Fairtrade has brought to her community.
A special Fairtrade Coffee Break will take place at Penallta House council offices in Ystrad Mynach on Tuesday, February 23, between 12.15pm and 2pm.
Coffee producer Jennifer is visiting from Uganda to talk to staff and councillors about the success of the Fairtrade campaign and to thank the authority for supporting the initiative.
The Caerphilly Fairtrade Group has organised the event as part of its ongoing efforts to promote Fairtrade across the area. Caerphilly town centre has received Fairtrade Town status and the scheme is widely backed by local residents and businesses.
Staff will get the opportunity to chat to Jennifer about Fairtrade as well as sampling Fairtrade chocolate, tea and coffee. They will also get an opportunity to join in the nationwide Big Swap by registering online on the Fairtrade Foundations website.
