Monmouthshire projects that bring together older people with young people can now enter for the Intergenerational Awards 2010.
Angelina Patrick, Monmouthshire County Council’s Community Focused Schools Development Officer, said:
“We will present awards to organisations and groups who bring the generations together to help build relationships and understanding between young and older members of the community’’.
“If you have been involved in a project or activity in 2009 and you feel that it has helped unite the generations, you will be able to apply to win an Intergenerational award. “
Monmouthshire’s ‘Community Focused Schools’ in partnership with the Older People’s Strategic Partnership Group will be hosting the Intergenerational Awards scheme.
The awards will be presented at a celebration evening on the 25th February 2010.
Awards of £100 will be given to the best intergenerational projects within the 3 areas of Monmouthshire:
- Bryn Y Cwm,
- Mor Hafren (former Lower Wye & Severn Side)
- Central Monmouthshire
An additional £150 will be awarded to the overall best Intergenerational project or activity.
