Jane Davidson has launched the WAG first annual report against the first and second Environment Strategy action plans.
The Annual Report highlights the successes achieved by the Assembly Government and our partners in enhancing and preserving Wales’ environment.
In the annual report, we report on how we fulfilled our biodiversity duty under Section 40(1) of the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006.
The annual report was launched at the British Trust of Conservation Volunteers’ (BTCV) Family Employment Initiative.
The BTCV project helps people overcome personal and social barriers through volunteering. It also aids them to develop skills to enable them to enter the workforce. This project shows that by working together, communities can provide opportunities to enjoy and benefit from the environment. This approach matches a key aim of the Environment Strategy for people in Wales from all backgrounds to connect with nature, and enjoy and understand the natural environment.
