Every picture tells a road safety story

A new trailer promoting road safety is to go on display in the County.

The Big Road Safety Picture is an initiative of the Pembrokeshire Road Safety Forum, which includes Pembrokeshire County Council.

The massive trailer will feature a variety of posters – many of them designed by local school children – to promote road safety campaigns in schools, shows and events across the County.

It has been sponsored by highways construction firm Costain, who are currently building the A40 Penblewin to Slebech Park Improvement scheme.

Councillor Jamie Adams, Cabinet Member for Highways and Planning, said the trailer would greatly aid the work to improve road safety in the County.

“On behalf of everyone involved in road safety I would like to thank Costain for their generous contribution,” he said.

Founded in Liverpool in 1865 by Richard Costain, Costain is now at the forefront of the construction industry in both the UK and abroad.

A spokesman said it was pleased to assist the Pembrokeshire Road Safety Partnership as health and safety was the number one priority in the company business.

“Costain focuses on promoting a positive safety culture ensuring the health and safety of all those who are engaged with Costain,” he said.
