At 6:20pm this evening there was an explosion at the Chevron refinery in Pembroke. The resulting fire has now been extinguished with the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service sending 10 appliance. The explosion was heard over 15 miles away and there are unconfirmed reports of up to two fatalities.
The air ambulance was deployed and the Welsh ambulance service has confirmed that their paramedics had dealt with a number of casualties at the scene.
The area is now being searched so all staff on site can be accounted for.
