Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has welcomed an announcement from the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board today which outlines that timescale of the on-going review of emergency general surgery will be extended.
The Health Board’s statement outlines that staff and stakeholders will be given more time to consider the proposals which have been put forward and that further stakeholder events relating to the review will be delayed until the New Year.
Darren said: ‘I welcome today’s announcement for the Health Board.
‘Patients, clinicians and medical staff have all requested more time and more information from the Health Board regarding this review. Today’s statement makes it clear that the Health Board are finally beginning to listen.
‘I hope that we will now start to see a constructive and open dialogue with the Health Board about this review and that stakeholders and members of the public will have the opportunity to have constructive input into their future service needs.’
