We do not normally cover generic technological news but we know that many of our readers rely on Facebook to connect with us.
There appears to be a global problem with Facebook at the moment with reports coming in from as far afield as New Zealand and the USA.
We at Welsh Icons have been experiencing problems with their services for the last few hours and are now receiving various DNS errors using multiple ISP connections.
It looks to us like this is a co-ordinated distributed DNS attack.

Update: Facebook have said “We’re currently experiencing some site issues causing Facebook to be slow or unavailable for some users. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. This is unrelated to yesterday’s outage.”
Update: It would appear that the problems have been resolved
