The newly refurbished all weather pitches at Prestatyn Leisure Centre will open on Monday 24th October.
This facility comprises of three floodlit, all weather, five -a- side pitches and is also marked out for both netball and tennis. The facility will be used by Prestatyn High School during term time but will be available for community use during the evenings, weekends and school holidays.
This work coincides with the major refurbishment of the sports hall which will close on the 24th October 2011 and re – open in March 2012.
These are exciting times for both the high school and the leisure centre with a new refurbishment of the fitness suite planned for December 2011 and the recent completion of a fitness studio that hosts both exercise and group cycle classes.
Jamie Groves, Head of Leisure, Libraries and Community Development said, “This will be an excellent addition to the PE and community facilities at the site and demonstrates that even during these challenging times we are committed to improving the facilities and services that we offer to our pupils and our communities.”
