Young people and the local community in St Asaph can now benefit from a major refurbishment scheme at the city’s youth centre and the developments will be marked by an official opening ceremony in early May.
The refurbishment means there is now better access to IT equipment and making better use of building space means more youth and community activities can be arranged. A new second floor meeting room and recreational area have been created and there is now better disabled access and an improved ventilation system is in place.
The improvements were funded through the Welsh Assembly Government and Denbighshire County Council.
Jamie Groves, Denbighshire’s Head of Leisure, Libraries and Community Development, said: “Even during these challenging times, we are committed to improving the facilities and services that we offer our young people and our communities.
“These improvements will give Youth Services more opportunity to develop their range of activities and be in a better position to host more community events aimed at young people”.
The official opening will take place on Saturday, May 7 at 2pm.
