Following an appeal for information earlier this week, a 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a burglary at the home of an elderly lady in Fairwater, Cardiff.
Dorothy Iris Mayer, aged 79, returned home from a hospital appointment on January 17, to discover that her home had been ransacked by burglars who stole money, jewellery, a purse and a phone.
A local man was arrested earlier today and is currently in custody at Cardiff Bay Police Station.
Mrs Mayer has been updated.
