Families Mark Health Challenge

Over 50 people turned out for a fun packed morning at Broad Haven beach last weekend to celebrate completing the Pembrokeshire Family Challenge.

The sun was shining and the spirits were high as families took part in rounders, cricket and football before tucking into a healthy barbeque and receiving certificates and goodie bags.

Pembrokeshire Family Challenge is open to all families in Pembrokeshire who have at least one child under 12. Families who join receive weekly support from a Personal Lifestyle Coach to help improve their health and wellbeing.

“We are very lucky in Pembrokeshire to have such a unique project that can help support families to make changes to their lifestyles” said Pembrokeshire County Councillor Cabinet Member for Health and Well Being, Councillor Sian James.

The Challenge was given a big thumbs-up by those who took part. “It may only have been for a few weeks but the effect it had will last a lifetime” said Linda Baldry from Pembroke who took part.

Managed by Health Challenge Pembrokeshire – a partnership of organisations responsible for health and well-being in Pembrokeshire – the project is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Way of Life initiative.
