There’s plenty to do for all the family at Plas Newydd, Llangollen throughout August.
The family exhibition this year is an exhibition on hats and hatting, in association with HatWorks Hat Museum in Stockport, and Lock and Co. Hatters of London. Linked to this will be a “Mad Hatting” family event on Wednesday, 11 August , when children can bring a tea party on the lawn, and make their own hats from feathers, rags and other materials.
On Thursday, 5 August, the “Stories in the Wood” craft day will look at the fantastical carvings in the house.
The family garden event this year will be “Birds in the Garden” on Tuesday, 17 August , with garden trails and storytelling with Andy Harrop-Smith.
At a special event on August Tuesday, 24 August, the public can meet the famous Ladies of Llangollen. Costumed presenters will tell the public about the history of the famous Ladies and their servant.
