Ashley Williams was this week crowned the Football Association of Wales’ player of the year at the Brains ‘45’ sponsored awards ceremony, held at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The Swansea City centre-back also took the club player of the year award, making Williams only the second player in the event’s history to pick up two prizes in the same night after Robert Earnshaw’s success in the same two categories in 2004.
The recipient of the young player of the year award was Arsenal ace Aaron Ramsey. The FAW special award was presented to former Cardiff City goalkeeper and member of Wales 1958 World Cup squad Ken Jones, while fellow international Gray Sprake was also honoured.
