Children had a chance to get creative and make their own Christmas decorations in workshops at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd.
The craft workshops were part of the town’s free festive event, when shoppers enjoyed browsing around a Christmas market, youngsters visited Santa’s grotto and there was entertainment from acrobats and a stiltwalker.
Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Mayor Councillor Simon Lloyd visited the park’s bandstand on the day for a special ‘Lights to Remember’ event in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The charity asked people to make a donation by sponsoring a light which will be displayed on a special tree in remembrance of loved ones.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is one of the mayor’s chosen charities this year and Cllr Lloyd paid tribute to the charity’s work and thanked all those who made a donation.
