There’ll be extra festive food and treats this Christmas thanks to the generous contributions to Cardiff Foodbank from staff and patients at the University Hospital of Wales (UHW).
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (UHB) Patient Experience Team recently held a collection on behalf of Cardiff Foodbank at the Concourse at UHW and collected 30 crates full of food and festive treats.
Michelle Fowler, Volunteer Service Manager at Cardiff and Vale UHB said, “We have been overwhelmed by the donations received from patients, visitors and staff. Thank you to everyone who has donated. The food that has been kindly given will make a huge difference to those who need a little extra help over the festive period.”
Catherine Williams, Manager of Cardiff Foodbank, said: “Cardiff Foodbank is once again giving thanks to Cardiff and Vale UHB Patient Experience Team and all staff at UHW for their generosity at one of our busiest times of the year.
“This latest collection provided enough food to supply a distribution centre for its 2 hour session. It is the generosity of people, both donors and organisers, which allows us to provide this safety net to people of Cardiff in their times of need.”
