With just a month to go until Newport hosts the 38th Ryder Cup a special seminar will be held at the Civic Centre on 1 September for residents to find out more about the logistics and the benefits hosting the tournament will bring.
Residents will be able to receive information about the tournament as well as ask questions about the final arrangements for The Ryder Cup. A presentation on the final traffic management and safety plan including the park and ride facilities will be given by Andrew Morris from Newport City Council and Mark Jones of the European Tour.
Newport City Council’s managing director Tracey Lee and Ffion Lloyd will provide information on how Newport is maximising the benefits hosting a world-class sporting event brings.
There will be an opportunity for questions and answers from a panel which includes Rob Holt, chief executive of Ryder Cup Wales 2010, as well as members of Newport City Council, the European Tour and Gwent Police.
The seminar will start at 4pm.
