As a way of thanks for commitment to composting food and garden waste in the brown bins, Gwynedd Council is offering a bag of compost to its residents this weekend. A bag will be available between 9am and 12pm on Saturday, 9 April, and Sunday, 10 April at the Caergylchu Recycling Centre, Caernarfon.
This is the third time that Gwynedd Council has given out compost to its residents. The food and garden waste collected across Gwynedd is sent to the Council’s composting facility at Ffridd Rasus, Harlech.
Councillor Gareth Roberts, Gwynedd Council Senior Portfolio Leader for the Environment noted:
“Quite simply we want to thank Gwynedd residents for using the brown bins, this compost is the fruit of their labour. Bags will be available on both mornings between 9 and 12, but it will be on a first come first serve basis, one bag each.
“Any weekend can be a good time to clear out the shed or recycle unwanted items at the recycling centre, the number of visitors alone proves it, but for this weekend only, you can pick up a bag of compost at the same time.”
