Fishguard lifeboat rescues stricken yacht

Fishguard RNLI inshore lifeboat, with three volunteer crew members, was launched just after 9pm on Monday, July 26 to go to the assistance of the 27 foot yacht Becket.

The yacht was failing to make any headway under sail as darkness approached, and was having difficulties after the boat’s engine had failed earlier in the day.

The yacht had two crew on board and was towed in by the inshore lifeboat from outside Fishguard’s north breakwater and brought alongside Lower Town Quay.
