RNLI Fishguard’s inshore lifeboat with three volunteer crew turned out shortly after midday yesterday (Wednesday 20 October) to go to the assistance of Joanna, a 15ft open fishing boat.
The boat had dragged her mooring onto the rocks on the northern side of Fisherman’s Quay in Fishguard Harbour in stormy conditions.
The lifeboat stood by while the owners onshore tried to salvage the boat but eventually lifeboat crew took over the salvage operation to ensure the safety of the owners.
The fishing boat was towed to and moored on the sheltered southern side of the quay and the lifeboat was stood down at 2.30pm.
