Fitness for all in Llangollen

Llangollen Leisure Centre and Llangollen Pavilion are joining forces to provide residents of all ages with plenty of opportunities to keep active.

Both the Leisure Centre and the Pavilion are running an open day on 11 September to launch the new leisure, health & well-being classes which support the aims of Denbighshire’s Big Plan in providing an enhanced programme of activities for toddlers through to the older generation.

Activities run at the Leisure Centre from 10am to 1pm and include gymnastics class, Aikido and karate classes, mini kickers for children, cricket, netball and free use of the fitness suite. In the afternoon, the activities move to the Pavilion where there will be free dance sessions for all ages, free fitness classes and a bike track from 1pm to 4pm.

The full programme is starting on the 12 September and for the first week; all sessions are free of charge to enable everyone to come along a try a class. The programme is available six days a week and includes fitness, dance and a new dance and drama club on Saturday mornings. There are classes and activities for all ages from as little as 2 ½ years to an over 50’s club.  Details of the full programme are available at www.sportdenbighshire.gov.uk or please contact either the leisure centre on 01978 861830 or pavilion on 01978 860111.

This programme is being supported by North East Wales Dance (NEWD), who will deliver dance and fitness in conjunction with the leisure centre.  In addition to the programme, GP referrals are also joining us at the venue on Thursdays between 2pm – 3.30pm.
