Liverpool Coastguard requested the launch of Flint RNLI lifeboat at 1.53pm on Tuesday 23 November, following a report of a boat adrift off Mostyn Dock.
The lifeboat launched at Greenfield on an ebbing tide at 2.05pm and immediatly proceded to Mostyn where the boat, a small RIB, was found unoccupied and dragging its anchor.
The RNLI volunteer crew secured the boat to its mooring and returned to Greenfield.
The lifeboat was recovered with some difficulty and returned to Flint where it was made ready for service at 3.35pm.
RNLI volunteer Deputy Launching Authority at Flint commented, “once the crew were on the water it was okay, but the ebbing tide made it a difficult launch, and an even more difficult recovery in pretty cold conditions.”
