Flint Summer Scheme 2011 – come and get involved

The Flint Summer Scheme 2011 is underway, with a varied programme of activities for young people in the town between the ages of 11 to 18 years old.

Flint Communities First has joined forces with Flintshire Youth and Community Service to deliver a wide range of activities, including a graffiti workshop, sessions on theatre skills and ‘casualty’ make up, and a variety of trips to venues around the region.

The summer scheme started at the beginning of the summer holidays and will finish on Friday 26 August.

Barry Guest, Youth Development Worker for Flint Communities First, said:

“I’m really excited about what we’re offering for young people in Flint throughout the summer holidays! I’ve arranged this summer programme so that it offers something for everyone from Flint who is between the ages of 11 to 18 years old, including a variety of centre-based sessions, which are held at the Flint Youth Club.

“As far as the trips are concerned, all are offered on a first come first served basis. We do ask for parents or guardians to complete the relevant consent forms, and we also ask for a small contribution towards the trip’s overall cost.

“The funding for this year’s scheme came from Flint Town Council, Flintshire County Council and Communities First. We would like to thank them all for their support.”

Activities are taking place on different days each week, so please make sure you get in touch to book a place. For details of what’s on offer, contact Barry Guest at Flint Communities First on 01352 734485 or 07748683802.
