Flintshire Business Week (FBW) 2010 is only a few days away.
FBW is Flintshire County Council’s flagship business event to help support the business community of Flintshire. It has been an annual event since 2007 and its aims are to share knowledge and best practice, develop and improve business relationships, as well as platform and promote Flintshire business success.
Over 90 local businesses and organisations are sponsoring the events.
The now traditional Flintshire Business Week breakfast launch hosted by Deeside College will take place on Tuesday 12 October where the guest speaker will be the High Sheriff of Clwyd, Lady Janet Jones. Throughout the day there will be events at various manufacturing businesses around the county, including Toyota, Convatec, GE Tools and the P&A Group.
Each day will run with a theme between 13 to 19 October. They are:
Wednesday 13 October

Thursday 14 October
- Innovation and Technology

Friday 15 October

At the Friday Business to Business event, the Economic Renewal team from the Welsh Assembly Government will explain the new direction that business support will take in the future. At the lunch seminar, Graeme Leach, Chief Economist with the Institute of Directors, will talk about the way forward for the economy in 2011.
Tuesday’s Finance day will include a lunchtime presentation by the Bank of England’s agent for Wales, Neil Ashbridge, on whether 2011 will be a recovery or a dip.
The day will conclude with the Flintshire Business Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner at Soughton Hall.
The last two days of Flintshire Business Week see a change of location down to London. On Wednesday 20 October, the Business Week team has arranged for Flintshire businesses to have a tour of the Olympic site followed by a reception at the House of Commons, where the Secretary of State for Wales, The Right Honourable Cheryl Gillan MP, will give the welcoming speech. The following morning there will be an inter-trading event at Broadway House in London to bring together businesses from Flintshire and the South East to network and exchange ideas.
Anyone interested in attending events, the majority of which are free of charge, should contact [email protected] or phone Ashley Zepeda on 01352 703219 to book their place.
