Preparations have already begun for Flintshire Business Week 2011 (FBW11), which takes place between 11 and 19 October. This year’s event heralds a number of firsts.
For the first time we will include a two day business exhibition
Sponsored by Convatec, the exhibition will take place at their premises on the Deeside Industrial Park on 12 – 13 October and is expected to attract at least 100 trade stands. The theme for the first day is regional procurement, whilst the second day will focus on supply chains, networking and trading.
FBW11 will include the usual high-quality programme of keynote speakers (including speakers from the Bank of England and the Institute of Directors), seminars, workshops, and factory tours.
For the first time we have a headline sponsor for the Flintshire business magazine FBW11
Parkway Telecom have long been supporters and sponsors of the week. This year, as well as sponsoring FBW11 magazine, the company will once again be sponsoring the Women into Business Award. Advertising in the 48 page A4 magazine is open to all businesses and organisations and there are preferential rates for bookings taken on or before 20 May, contact [email protected] for further details.
For the first time we have a headline sponsor for the Business Awards
AGS Security from Mold, who have been keen supporters of Flintshire Business Week for a number of years, are the headline sponsor for this year’s Flintshire Business Awards.
For details about the 11 award categories visit www.flintshirebusinessawards.co.uk or contact [email protected].
The Flintshire Business Awards will be presented at a gala ceremony and dinner at Soughton Hall on Friday 14 October.
As well as our ‘firsts’, the popular MP Question Time will take place at Deeside College on Friday 14 October and this year is sponsored by Hillyer McKeown. There will also be a Council Question Time on Monday 17 October where local businesses will be able to put questions to the people who make the decisions in Flintshire.
Following the tremendous success of the past three years, Flintshire businesses will once again be heading to Westminster where, on 19 October, they will meet with Ministers and MPs and be able to discuss issues of importance to them.
Dave Heggarty, Head of Regeneration at Flintshire County Council, said:
“We are very proud of Flintshire Business Week, which has now become our most important promotional event of the year. A very wide range of businesses, local support organisations and the public sector are now actively involved and together, we are able to deliver a very wide ranging programme of events designed both to showcase the best of what Flintshire has and to help businesses succeed in difficult times”.
There’s lots more happening throughout the week at FBW11. Full details can be found soon at www.flintshirebusinessweek.co.uk, or visit www.flintshire.gov.uk/business. For further information, email [email protected].
