Flintshire Business Week 2011 is well underway, and thet’re proving that Flintshire is well and truly open for business, because this year’s is bigger and better than ever!
Many of the events are seeing record attendances – highlights so far include Renewables Day at UPM Shotton, and the two day business exhibition at ConvaTec.
And it’s not over yet; still to come is Tuesday’s SME day at the Springfield Hotel and Health Club, Holywell. Speakers include Dr Barrie Kennard from Leadership and Management Wales, who will be giving an inspirational presentation on maximising the impact of leadership and management development (LMD) for the benefit of business sustainability and growth; and Neil Ashbridge, the Bank of England’s Agent for Wales, who will be presenting a lunchtime seminar – sponsored by Barclays Corporate.
The week will end on Wednesday 19 October, with the now traditional ‘Flintshire goes to Westminster’ event; where business people from the county have the opportunity to join Lords, Ministers of State and MPs at this most prestigious event. (Please note that this event is now fully booked).
Summing up this year’s Flintshire Business Week 2011, Councillor Matt Wright said:
“I am so proud of all that we have achieved this year. In its five year history, Flintshire Business Week has always been a successful event, but this year’s has been the best yet. We have been overwhelmed at the level of interest and support from businesses attending. I’d like to thank the organising staff, partners and local businesses for embracing this initiative.
“Now, more than ever, it’s vital that companies have a platform to network and share ideas and that’s what Flintshire Business Week is all about. This year’s record attendances just go to prove that, despite challenging economic times, our county is holding its own, and we can be proud that Flintshire is open for business.”
