In partnership with Coleg Cambria, a Welsh beginners course is starting at the Campus on Monday 7 October. The course is every Monday between 9.30am and 11.30 am. It’s a fun course with the emphasis on speaking – and no prior knowledge of Welsh is needed.
The cost is £22 for ten weeks, with a course booking fee of £3. Concessions may be available. To enrol please contact Communities First on 01244 846090.
Communities First is also working in partnership with Glyndwr University to offer a Learning for Employability class on Monday 14 October at the Campus.
The course runs between 2pm and 4.30pm and will focus on giving people the confidence to step into learning and returning to work. It is free, open to all, with no previous qualifications necessary.
Course contents include careers advice, information and guidance from professionals (including talks from and visits to possible employers) and personal development skills (including techniques for getting organised and making effective presentations).
To book your place or find out more, please contact either Sarah Lou Gaffney on 01978 293575 or email [email protected] or ring Teresa Allen on 01244 846090. Participants on both courses are asked to use the library entrance of the Campus.
Councillor Aaron Shotton, Leader of the Council, said:
“Helping local people in their search for suitable employment in today’s job market is a key Council priority, and Communities First in Flintshire is working hard across the county to provide support for those in need, and that includes the great range of courses it offers in partnership with both Coleg Cambria and Glyndwr University. To book onto the Welsh beginners course, or for further information about courses available, please contact Teresa Allen at Communities First on 01244 846090.”
