Flintshire County Council officers have stepped in to help a small number of bus users in Hope who found that they could no longer easily access local services.
Following changes to the former DB4 bus service between Chester and Mold, a small number of passengers who live in Fagl Lane, most of whom are elderly, could no longer get to and from Caergwrle easily.
Flintshire County Council officers were keen to help and, having discussed the requirements of those affected, arrangements have now been made for a bookable, demand-responsive car service to help residents get to their neighbouring village.
To use the service, passengers are asked to phone (01244) 544 744, giving a minimum of 48 hours notice.
The scheme is operated by Welsh Border Community Transport and will be subject to WBCT’s vehicles being available.
The County Council will monitor the service and can make adjustments in the light of demand.
