There will certainly be stories old and new told in Flintshire and Denbighshire Primary schools this autumn.
Pupils from Ysgol Pen Coch, Flintshire, Ysgol Tir Morfa and Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn, Denbighshire, will be working with professional sculptress Katie Scarlet Howard and exploring local stories and characters from their community to create sculptors for a joint regional exhibition of ‘People and Places in Our Community’.
Councillor Chris Bithell, Cabinet Member for Education, said:
‘This is a wonderful opportunity for pupils and teachers to work alongside a professional artist in developing their creative skills, and highlights the effectiveness of schools and local authorities working collaboratively.”
These residencies have been part funded by the Arts Council of Wales and Flintshire County Council and Denbighshire County Council.
