Flintshire hosts its first Regeneration Conference at Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold on 11 February 2011.
This is an opportunity for representatives from a wide range of organisations with an interest in the long-term prosperity of the county to come together to consider how each can work together to make the county the most business friendly in Wales.
Key players attending include major businesses such as Toyota, who will be displaying their new hybrid car; senior representatives of major local businesses, trade organisations and vital grassroots regeneration groups, including the town centre partnerships.
The Flintshire Regeneration Strategy was launched in 2009 and sets out ambitious plans to make Flintshire a better place to do business, to improve the quality of life for all residents and to make the county’s towns and rural areas more attractive and vibrant places.
An invited audience from the private, public and voluntary sectors will meet to review the progress made to date and to consider key actions for the next few years, to work together to maintain growth in a challenging period.
Councillor Matt Wright, Executive Member for Regeneration and Tourism, said:
“This event is an exciting milestone for Flintshire, part of our aim to raise the profile of the county as ‘Open for Business’ and welcoming to investors. The county has weathered the recession better than many parts of the UK and this conference will ensure that partners continue to work together to make the best use of their resources and help speed Flintshire on its way to future growth, jobs and investment.”
