Disability football sessions for wheelchair users are continuing to grow in popularity.
The Wheelchair Football Club is the only one of its kind to run in Wales and reached record numbers of attendance this month.
This is due to the partnership between Cardiff Council and Cardiff City FC who have developed the “Every Player Counts Programme”, which aims to grow disability football provision across the region.
The sessions take place at Fitzalan High School on the first Monday of every month at 5pm and are open to ages 5 years and upwards. Due to the increase in numbers organisers are now seeking to increase the number of sessions on offer.
The Every Player Counts initiative is a leading project of The Football League Trust and supported by The Football Pools.
It will see Cardiff City FC Community Foundation in partnership with Sport Cardiff, Cardiff Council’s Sports Development Department, deliver a two-year, PAN-Disability scheme.
