Proclaiming his love for Pembrokeshire, Paul Davies AM supported the launch of the For the Love of… campaign, at an event organised by Stop Climate Chaos Cymru (SCCC) at the Senedd on (Wednesday 30 April).
For the Love of is a new campaign by Stop Climate Chaos Cymru – a coalition whose members include Oxfam Cymru, Unison, National Union of Students, Friends of the Earth Cymru, RSPB Cymru, Sustrans Cymru, WWF Cymru, Cafod, Christian Aid Wales, National Federation of Women’s Institutes Wales.
The campaign highlights that everyone loves something that is threatened by climate change and that action must be taken to protect what we love.
At the launch event, Mr Davies showed his commitment for action on climate change by joining SCCC campaigners. He said, “Climate change is such a big issue, we might not realise how it will really affect the things we take for granted and the things we love. For me, I love Pembrokeshire and its beautiful landscape and if it is under threat action must be taken to protect it.”
Haf Elgar, Chair of Stop Climate Chaos Cymru, said, “It’s great that Paul Davies has publicly backed our campaign to stand up, in the name of all the things we love, and demand action on climate change. As individuals, communities and organisations we all love different things, and we need to work together to both celebrate and protect things that are threatened by climate change.”
“We call on the people of Wales to stand up for what they love and add their voice to the campaign. For the love of Wales – let’s act on climate change.”
