Councillor Ivor Williams, the former Mayor of Lampeter town and twice Chairman of Ceredigion County Council has recently joined Tai Ceredigion’s team of Board members. He has been appointed as a Council nominee bringing a wealth of community experience to the table.
Councillor Williams has been representing the ward of Lampeter town since 1999 and has worked in the town and surrounding area his entire working career as a painter and decorator. He remains actively involved with many organisations and groups within Ceredigion including Ceredigion Scouts, Lampeter Football Club and is a Trustee of Longwood Community Woodland in Lampeter. He has been a School Governor for both Lampeter Secondary School and Ffynnonbedr Primary School for many years, having also been the Chair of Governors.
Councillor Williams said “I am keen to see Tai Ceredigion succeed in achieving the highest possible standards of housing for their tenants whilst keeping rent at an affordable rate. I believe that it is crucial that the housing association builds more housing to deal with the ever growing housing waiting list and home local people. Tai Ceredigion has the opportunity to make a real difference for all the residents of Ceredigion.”
The Tai Ceredigion Board brings together different skills and expertise and is comprised equally of Council nominees, tenants and independent members as unpaid volunteers.
