Former S4C editor Angharad Jones’ body was pulled from the sea near Penarth Pier early on Saturday morning by a coastguard crew.
Ms Jones was commissioning editor for drama and film at S4C between 1996 and 2007.
On behalf of S4C, Iona Jones said, “It was with great sadness that we learned of the news of Angharad Jones’ death. Angharad made a major contribution to drama in Wales and was an inspirational colleague. During her time as Drama Commissioner at S4C, she commissioned a number of award-winning productions, including drama series Con Passionate; Fondue, Rhyw a Deinasors; Talcen Caled and Caerdydd and films such as Eldra and Gwyfyn. She will be greatly missed, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family and friends.”
South Wales Police are investigating the circumstances behind the death.
