Preparations are well underway for this year’s summer playschemes in Neath Port Talbot.
The play-schemes are completely free of charge and are planned to go ahead from 2nd August until 27th August.
They will take place outdoors in over 28 areas across the county borough and children can just turn up and play.
Play-workers are fully trained and the schemes provide great fun over the summer weeks. Children can play safely and freely and can join in some exciting activities – from water slides to painting and tree climbing to den building.
Children over the age of five are invited to come along and play whilst under 5’s are welcome if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Council Leader, Ali Thomas, said, “Play is an important part of a child’s life and children, young people and parents benefit from local schemes where play-workers encourage children to explore and play in a safe environment.”
A mobile skate ramp team will cover five different areas throughout the four weeks. Children and young people can visit the skate ramps with their bikes and skateboards for free in Cimla, Gwaun Cae Gurwen, Seven Sisters, Sandfields and Croeserw.
