South East Wales continues in its pledge to tackle the despicable crime of human trafficking and slavery.
Human trafficking and slavery is often perceived as a hidden crime and widely acknowledged as being under reported. It can come in many forms including criminal, labour and sexual exploitation.
Delegates from across Wales will gain a valuable insight into the innovative way organisations are working closely together to tackle human trafficking and slavery and support victims
The ‘From Victim to Survivor Conference’ will be held at Liberty Stadium, Swansea on Thursday March 20th. The event forms part of the joined up approach across Wales to tackle human trafficking and slavery .
The conference is being hosted by the Wales Anti Human Trafficking and Slavery Training Group and supported by the Welsh Government.
The Conference is an opportunity to launch the Wales accredited Anti Human Trafficking and Slavery training strategy, its logo being that of a blue blindfolded dragon , together with showcasing the Wales Victim Pathway.
Kim Ann Williamson from Cymru Wales Crown Prosecution Service, who chairs the Wales Anti Human Trafficking and Slavery Training Group stated “ I am privileged to lead the Wales Training Strategy and this conference will be an opportunity for members of the training group together with colleagues from all of the Anti Human Trafficking and Slavery Groups in Wales to reach out to organisations to share best practice to identifying victims , providing excellent victim care, and offer corporate accredited training opportunities to organisations across Wales to raise awareness of this despicable crime that is happening on our doorsteps.
