‘Playworks?.!’ In Neath Port Talbot are holding the third annual Gambo Day this year on Ynysfach School Yard in Resolven on Friday 4th June at 12pm.
Home made go-carts from all over Neath Port Talbot will be invited to participate in races for under 8’s, 8 – 12’s, 13 – 18’s and adults. There will also be a prize for the ‘best dressed’ gambo.
Council Leader, Ali Thomas, said, “Events like this bring the community together and encourage children to play in the ways that we used to play in. Adventures such as this are all part of growing up and are helpful to learning skills for later life.”
People wishing to build a gambo are welcome to come along and meet playworkers for advice and pick up parts that might be useful for their own carts.
Playworkers can be found in Ynysfach School Field in Resolven every Tuesday and Wednesday and in Clyne Park on Mondays and Thursdays from 4.15pm to 6.15pm.
