Gwynedd Council’s Arfon Tennis Centre will play host to stars of the future between 15 and 19 August as it stages a major junior tennis competition.
The Grade 3 Caernarfon Junior Tennis Tournament – which is one of the biggest in Wales – will see well over 140 junior tennis players from across Britain taking part.
Ian Preston, Gwynedd’s Tennis Development Coach said:
“This is the fifth year running that we have staged the junior tournament and it has grown to be recognised throughout the country. The standard of play is high at grade 3, and with over 140 juniors taking part we have the largest entry ever taking part this year.
“We will have some of the best juniors in the country competing, including some of our very own juniors who have lessons at the Arfon Tennis Centre, including the talented Cai Jones who trains here with his coach Ceryl Jones. Anyone is welcome to come along to see some of the tennis stars of the future battling it out in Caernarfon.”
The Grade 3 Caernarfon Junior Tennis Tournament will include competitors from under 8s right up to under 18s age range – boys and girls. Play starts at 9.30am each day at the Arfon Tennis Centre at Ffordd Bethel in Caernarfon. You’re welcome to come along to watch the future tennis stars.
