There’s an opportunity to improve your knitting and crocheting skills and have a ball at Pontypridd Library on Thursday, May 19.
Expert knitters Avril Reid and Elsie Bell will be leading the ‘Knitting Nannas’ event from 10.30am-2.30pm. Booties and hats knitted on the day will be donated to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit.
Those attending can also trade unwanted odds and ends of wool and materials; pick up free patterns, transform outfits with Little Bee Buttons and complete unfinished projects.
Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Cllr Robert Bevan, said: “Knitting Nannas is just one of the many interesting and educational community-focused events run at Pontypridd Library. The day not only promises to be a lot of fun, but it will also help provide much-needed clothing for tiny babies at the Special Care Baby Unit.
“Whether you are a dab-hand with knitting needles or an absolute beginner, why not come along on the day and enjoy a few good yarns!”
