Get your Macca tickets early at the Stadium

Paul McCartney fans are being encouraged not to leave it until the last minute to collect their pre-ordered tickets for Saturday evening’s ‘Up and Coming’ Tour at the Millennium Stadium.

Legendary rock and roll icon McCartney will play his first show in Wales for 31 years at the Millennium Stadium on 26 June – supported by Welsh rockers the Manic Street Preachers and The Joy Formidable – and thousands of fans have snapped up the hottest tickets in town.

In the countdown to the big event, Stadium Manager Gerry Toms urges fans to plan in advance and not wait until the final hour before the famous former Beatle rocks the iconic venue to get hold of their tickets to the show.

“Fans should be aware that all tickets will be available for collection from the WRU Store at 8 Westgate Street from tomorrow morning at 10am until 9pm and at the same time on event day to ensure that no one is left waiting in a queue ahead of the big occasion,” said Mr Toms.

“At the Millennium Stadium, preparations have been underway all week to deliver another fantastic live music event come Saturday evening and I hope that everyone attending the concert is suitably prepared for what will be a spectacular show.

“Fans that have to leave their collections until Saturday should make use of the park and ride facilities in and around Cardiff which open from 9am and enjoy a day out in the city centre before the event.”

To ensure the highest level of enjoyment for concert goers this weekend, some last minute production changes meant that the seating configuration in the stadium needed to be altered, after a final check revealed that certain seats would not have a clear view of the stage.

As an unavoidable result this has meant that not all the tickets could be reprinted in time to send out and Cardiff’s box office will open early in anticipation of an early turn out from tomorrow morning.

Promoters are sorry for any inconvenience but stress that the changes made will result in a more positive experience for everyone in the stadium.

At No 8 Westgate Street, between the hours of 10am and 9pm on Friday and Saturday, Millennium Stadium staff will be available for ticket collections and cash only sales (Saturday only) to give fans plenty of opportunity and options for getting tickets to the ‘Up and Coming’ show which includes a typically diverse set of music from Macca’s unrivalled career.

Tickets are also available priced at £55, £70 and £85 via the 24 hour credit card hotlines (0844 847 2450 and 0871 297 0066) and on the internet (www.ticketmaster.com, www.seetickets.com and www.ticketline.co.uk).
