Youngsters at a north Pembrokeshire school have been taking part in Kayaking taster sessions.
Nine pupils from Ysgol Bro Gwaun in Fishguard learnt the basics of the water sport as part of their 5×60 sessions this term.
The sessions were run at Fishguard’s Lower Town by coach Mike Mayberry from Mike Mayberry Kayaking.
It’s hoped to launch a regular 5×60 Kayaking Club at the school in the summer term.
Organised by Sport Pembrokeshire – the sports development arm of Pembrokeshire County Council – the 5×60 project encourages secondary school children to take part in extra-curricular activities, while getting fit at the same time.
