Getting in shape won’t break the bank

Sculpting a body fit to grace the beaches of the Mediterranean this summer won’t break the bank thanks to a new scheme.

Swansea Council’s Shape up for Summer promotion is offering people the chance to access a six-week membership programme at its sports facilities for a one-off fee of £30.

The scheme offers unlimited use of Active Swansea gyms across the city and access to a range of fitness classes and sports.

Dave Osborne, Swansea Council’s Leisure Operations Manager, said: “Summer is a time when many people think about getting in shape and we’re launching this initiative to remove barriers to participation in a bid to get more people active.

“We offer a wide range of activities at our Active Swansea leisure centres and our team of professional fitness instructors are on hand to recommend activities appropriate to people’s needs.

“This promotion will enable people to try out many of our activities including fitness classes, badminton and swimming.”

The six-week membership starts on Monday July 19 and people can now sign up at any of the city’s Active Swansea leisure centres.
