Getting to the air show on time

Organisers of the Rhyl Air Show are expecting high volumes of traffic when people come to see the second  Rhyl Air Show this coming weekend 7 and 8 August.

They are asking residents of the town to walk to the event, as the roads around Rhyl, particularly the promenade, will experience more traffic than normal.

Additional car parking is available at Rhyl Leisure Centre, Grange Road, and the New Boat Store, Rhyl Harbour. Temporary road signs will guide visitors to both these car parks and normal bus services are operating with an additional circular shuttle bus from the Leisure Centre to the Promenade. The car park fee is £4 with no charge for the bus.  Visitors are advised to use the additional car parks which will open at 10am.

Parking is available on the promenade but it is expected that promenade car parks will fill to capacity early in the day. Additional promenade parking is available at Quay Street car parks.

There are disabled parking facilities at all the promenade car parks.  Anyone intending to park at the promenade sites should arrive well before the event starts at noon.

All routes into Rhyl have road signs directing traffic to Air Show parking. Traffic and Air Show information is available by listening to Point Fm 103.1 Community Radio.   The event is centred on the Rhyl Events Arena, but can be viewed from anywhere on the promenade, from Rhyl Harbour to Splash Point.
