Ghosts in Barry Leisure Centre

It may be the wrong time of year for all things spooky, but there are ghostly goings-on at Barry Leisure Centre thanks to new state-of-the-art exercise equipment.Vale Council Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism Cllr Anthony Ernest samples the new ‘Ghost Rider’ software on the Trixter bikes at Barry Leisure Centre.

The LifeStyle gym’s Trixter bikes, which bring outdoors cycling indoors, are the first in the world to have a new ‘Ghost Rider’ feature which lets users race against their ultimate competitor….themselves!

The exercise bikes have video screens attached to them which simulate your progress around a series of racing circuits, and the new feature lets you race against your previous best performance by showing a ‘ghost’ onscreen of you riding your fastest time.

Trixter have been developing the new feature for the past couple of years, and Barry Leisure Centre has been chosen as the first place to unveil it to the public.

After putting the new feature through its paces, the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s cabinet member for leisure and tourism, Cllr Anthony Ernest, said: “I’m sure that customers will find the new ‘Ghost Rider’ feature totally addictive. Time flies as you ride these bikes and continually push yourself to try and improve by beating your previous best time.”
